Anthony Spiezio

ALBANY- Anthony Spiezio, 85, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2015, at his home.

Tony was born on January 16, 1930, to the late Luigi and Rose Spiezio in Vitulazio, Italy. Tony was a Carabiniere (Police Officer) in Italy for many years before he moved to the United States in the 1962. Tony lived in Albany, NY where he met his late wife of over 40 years, Alfonsina. Over the years Tony worked as a construction worker for the Local 190, and retired from Freihofer's Bakery in 1995.
Tony is survived by his children; Louis Spiezio, and Margaret Spiezio, his siblings; Maddalena (Vincenzo) DiNardo, Giuseppina Russo, Mary (Liberato) Simeone, Nicky Spiezio, and a host of nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Tony is predeceased by his loving wife, Alfonsina, and his brother; Nicola Spiezio.

Tony will be remembered for his love of gardening and the outdoors. He enjoyed cooking for his family, watching soccer, and listening to his Italian music.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY, on Monday, April 6, 2015, from 8:00-10:00am. A mass of Christian burial will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church, 605 Central Ave, Albany, NY 12205, immediately following at 10:30am.
