Troy-Kathleen Grogan passed away at home on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, following a brief illness.
Born in Troy, NY on June 9, 1937, Kathy was the daughter of Thomas Grogan and Mary Roach, of Troy, NY. Kathy graduated from Catholic Central High School, Troy, NY, and Mildred Elly Business School. She began her career of service with New York State. During her career she went back to school and earned her Bachelor's Degree from Empire State College. She held management positions at New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and New York State Department of Racing and Wagering. She retired early to care for her mother who suffered a stroke.
Kathy was predeceased by her parents, her sister, Aileen Rourke, and her brother, Thomas Grogan. She is survived by her nephew Sean Rourke of Los Angeles, niece Bridget Rourke of Albany and her husband Karl, grandniece Molly, grandnephew Quinn, and cousins Linda Nowosielski, Susan Comisky, and Nancy MacLaughlin.
Kathy's family would like to thank the caregivers of Samartian Hospital and The Community Hospice for wonderful, compassionate care and support during the last week of Kathy's illness. A special thank you goes out to many friends who have helped and supported us over the past month.
Per Kathy's wishes there will be no services. A private internment will be held at St Peter's Cemetery, Troy, NY.
