Albany- Edward V. Casserly, 86, passed away September 30th 2015. He was the son of the late James and Nona Casserly.
Edward is survived by his loving wife Jeanne Casserly. They were two weeks shy of celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary.
Edward was a veteran of the Korean War with the Army where he served with the Counter Intelligence Core. Ed worked for 39 years as a banker with the State Bank of Albany as Senior Vice President and then advanced on to President of the Peninsula National Bank. In his free time Ed would volunteer at the Regional Food Bank and he was also a big New York Giants and Mets fan.
Edward is also survived by his daughter Debra (Tom) Warton and his granddaughters Catherine & Allison all of California. Ed also leaves behind his siblings; James (the late Frances) Casserly, Reverend Eugene Casserly of Pensacola, FL and Charles (Beverley) Casserly of Virginia & several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund which can be mailed directly to Our Lady of Assumption Church.
Calling hours will be held Sunday October 4th, 2015 from 1:00pm-4:00pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Albany,NY 12205. A mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, October 5th at Our Lady of Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet Shaker Rd, Latham, NY 12110. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Colonie.
