G. Stephen Beals Sr.
December 21, 1932 — July 13, 2016
Albany- G. Stephen Beals Sr., 83, passed away, Wednesday, July 13, 2016. Born in North Hampton, MA he was son of the late George C. and Susanne Beals. Steve is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Mary O'Toole Beals.
Steve was employed by the Albany Public School System as a teacher, assistant principal and principal. He was a teacher and an assistant principal at the Giffen Memorial School. Later, he became a principal at Public Schools #17 and #18 and of the night school program at Albany High School.
In addition to his wife, Steve is survived by his children; G. Stephen Beals Jr. (Lorraine), Christopher Beals, Maura Bellanger (Kevin) and Matthew Beals (Kellie). He is also survived by his grandchildren; Grant Beals, Bridget Bellanger, Maggie Bellanger, Michael Beals and Emily Beals. He is also survived by his brother, Philip Beals (Dorothy).
Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 15, 2016 from 4:00-7:00pm at Christ the King Church, 20 Sumter Avenue, Albany, NY 12203. A mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 10:00am at Christ the King Church. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at St. Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their loving care.
Memorial contributions in Steve's name can be made to the Altamont Community Food Pantry and the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, Menands, NY.
