Albany- Daniel R. Bonneau, Sr., 76, passed away surrounded by his loving family at his home on Saturday, August 6, 2016. The son of the late Leo and Joyce (Baker) Bonneau, Daniel was born in Albany on June 13, 1940. He served his country in the US Army from 1957 to 1958. Dan was a construction worker with Walsh-Corbetta. He later worked as a custodian at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany, NY.
Daniel was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He was loved by everyone who met him.
Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Ruth Ann Bonneau; his children: Peggy Shaw, Daniel Bonneau, Jr., and Thomas Bonneau; his brother William and his wife Rosemary Bonneau; his sister Darlene and her husband William Nopper; his sister-in-law Barbara Bonneau; his grandsons Brian Shaw and Jacob Bonneau; granddaughter Renee Bonneau; great-grandson Bryson Shaw and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, Daniel was predeceased by his brothers: Leo Patrick, Ernest Michael and Gilbert Bonneau.
Dan's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Community Hospice for the care, compassion and support given to Dan and his family.
Visitation will be from 5pm to 8pm on Thursday, August 11 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9am on Friday, August 12 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave., Albany. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, 1389 Central Ave., Colonie.
