Patricia "Pat" Brown, née Halse
The family is deeply saddened to announce that Pat passed away peacefully on September 9, 2016 in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada with her husband, Juris Balins, by her side.
Pat was born on May 28, 1949 in Albany, New York where she was raised, went to school and worked before coming to Canada at the end of 1974. After initially working for an electronics company, in 1978 Pat began a 20 year career, first as a Secretary and later as an Executive Assistant, with the engineering firm of Golder Associates in Mississauga Canada and later in Santiago Chile before retiring at the end of 1998 and returning to Canada with Juris.
In addition to Pat's husband, she is survived by her sister Natalie (Halse) Ermides and husband Savas of Schenectady; her brother Edward J. Halse Jr. and wife Susan (Garry) of Guilderland; and, her many nieces and nephews and their families in the United States. Pat also will be missed by her many other relatives, friends and former colleagues in Canada and the United States.
She was predeceased by her parents Edward J. Halse Sr. and Anna (aka Anne/Ann) Halse (nee McMahon), her sister Suzanne (Halse) Secor and brother-in-law Marshall Secor, nephew Darren Halse and grandniece Julia Silvernell.
The family invites friends to visit on Thursday, September 22, 2016, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Pat will be laid to rest at the Albany Rural Cemetery on Friday, September 23, 2016, following an 11:00 am service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, we would ask that donations be made to a charity of your choice.
