Edith Russell Oliver

Edith Russell Oliver, 80, fell asleep in her home on Saturday, October 15, 2016 in the midst of family. Born in Cairo, Georgia she was the daughter of the late Dempsey Echols and Bernice Richards. She is predeceased by her late husband, Andrew Oliver; and her daughter, Denise Lloyd.

After 25 years, she retired from working in central supply at Eden Park Nursing Home in Albany. Edith enjoyed being with her family.

Those surviving include her son, William Lloyd, Jr., four daughters, Cheryl Lloyd, Kathryn Lloyd, Glenda Abdalla and Felicia Lloyd; as well as thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson; and many loving cousins and friends.

Edith Oliver was a member of the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She expressed faith in God and his promises by sharing with others the good news of God's Kingdom as found in the Bible. She was a faithful mother to all of her children, appreciated for her desire to help when others needed, and continues to be remembered for her honest speech.

Relatives and Friends may call on Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY. The Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2016, at 4:30 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 400 Albany-Shaker Road, Loudonville, NY.
