GUILDERLAND-David M. Heller of Guilderland, NY lost his battle with heart disease on October 27, 2016.
He was born April 1, 1965 in Long Island NY.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jean Heller; their son, Sean Heller; mother and stepfather, Judith Heller and Dr. Leonard Rosenberg; his brother, Joseph Heller and his wife Laura; nieces and nephew, Danielle Heller, Olivia Heller, Grace Gilmore and Vincent Gilmore; mother-in- law, Gloria Miele and Ellen Galagaran; father-in-law, Joseph Miele brother-in-law, Gavin Miele; aunt; Sherry (Alan) Booseler; cousin, Michael (Monique) Boosler and their son Luke and many friends.
He is predeceased by his father, Donald Heller.
Dave was a devoted father and husband. He never missed an opportunity to participate in his son's activities, he was especially proud of his sons Tae Kwon Do and lacrosse accomplishments. He adored his wife and cherished their life together with their son and their beloved four-legged buddy, Jethro.
In addition to his academic and professional accomplishments, Dave enjoyed gardening, sailing and target practice at the firing range. He was a member of the Guilderland Environmental Conservation Advisory Council and participated in the local Democratic Committee.
He attended Drexel University where he was a brother of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity and graduated from Pace University in NY. Dave was employed at the Golub Corporation where he worked as a Senior Accountant and most recently as an Asset Protection Analyst. He was a dear friend to many in the office and he enjoyed coming to work every day. He was happy to be the "go-to" person for his colleagues. He had a way of really making people feel heard. His interest in helping others was genuine and he will be very deeply missed.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 11:00am at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205. Calling hours will be held from 10-11am on Thursday.
In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made in the Memory of David Heller: Cardiology Department at Albany Medical Center Foundation, P.O. Box 8928, Albany, NY 12208.
