Altamont-John C. Gonyea, 75, passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 27th, 2016.
He was the son of the late Clarence and Ann (Pollack) Gonyea. He retired with the NYS Office of General Services and served with the Army National Guard.
He had worked very hard to provide a great life for his family and taught everyone great values. He was always there when you needed him and was constantly helping his sons with home and car projects. He was a part of many memories with motorcycles and racing. He loved going to breakfast with his friends, riding motorcycles, attending car shows and races with his sons, watching the Lions with his family, and playing with his grandsons. He enjoyed helping others whenever he could and will be greatly missed by many.
He is survived by his wife, Henrietta, his three sons; John (Heidi), Shane (Crystal), and Mike (Anastassia), his six grandsons; John, Kyle, Gus, Teddy, Mitchell, and Blake, and his sister, Barbara Antonelli.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 from 4:00pm-7:00pm. A mass of Christian burial will be held at Christ the King Church, 20 Sumter Ave, Guilderland, NY on Thursday, December 1, 2016, at 10:00am. Burial will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie, NY.
