Francis Richard Miano

October 3, 1945 — January 5, 2017

Francis Richard "Frank" Miano, 71, On January 5, 2017, surrounded by his loving wife, Kim, daughters, Jennifer and Nicole, son-in-law Chris and grandson, Kyle, Frank lost his battle with ALS and left this earth and became an Angel of God.
Frank was the owner and operator of Rensselaer Welding in East Greenbush, New York, and a Veteran of the United States Army National Guard.

He enjoyed camping on Saratoga Lake with his family and friends and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed fishing bass tournaments with his wife, Kim, his grandson, Kyle, his stepson, Shawn and his many fishing buddies. He was a long time member of Greenbush Bass. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a proud supporter of the Rensselaer Boys and Girls Club of Rensselaer, NY.

Frank enjoyed going to his grandchildren and step-grandchildren's baseball, basketball, football and soccer games and wrestling events. He also enjoyed taking walks in the woods with his dogs, Bella and Peanut, whom he loved very much. He also enjoyed snuggling with his cat, Sylvester and his cat, Sasha (who predeceased him), whom he loved very much. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Veronica Miano, his infant daughter, Mary Miano, and his father-in-law, Edward A. Slaver.

He is survived by his loving wife and soulmate, Kim Slaver Miano, his daughters, Jennifer Duwe (Christopher) and Nicole Miano; his grandchildren, Kyle Miano, Philip Mangione V, and his step-grandson, Cameron Duwe. He is also survived by his stepsons, Fredrick Lee, Jr. (Jennifer) and Shawn Lee (Lauren), his step-grandchildren, Dylan Lee, Paige Lee-Eaton, Gaige Lee, Benjamin Delaney, Emersyn Delaney Lee, Jaxon Lee and Livia Bender, his mother-in-law, Dorothy Slaver, brothers-in-law, Edward Slaver (Jerilyn) and David Slaver (Heather), sister-in-law, Tammy Ryan (Jon) and daughter-in-law, Nicole Rickert. He is also survived by his siblings, James Miano (Joan), Edward Miano (Elaine), Sally Spring (Shawn), Betty Childrose and Angie Miano, and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all of Frank's wonderful close friends who have been with him throughout his life and during his illness. At the request of the family and Frank, there are no calling hours or burial. Cremation services are provided by New Comer Funeral Home.
