Niverville- Karen S. Lasher ,66, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away on February 11, 2017.
She was born to (the late) Paul and Ruth McCormick; nee Price, on March 10, 1950 in Washington, DC then moved to Plattsburgh, NY. Upon graduation, she moved to Albany, NY where she met the love of her life, (the late) Jeffrey P. Lasher. She worked for the Salvation Army as a Book Keeper for over 30 years in Albany, NY.
She is survived by her children; Scott McCormick, Terri Gilroy, step children, Todd (Karen) Lasher, Marcy Lasher, Lisa (Joe) Tomasino, Kelly (Mike) Brozowski, and Michael (Carrie) Lasher, silbings, Patricia McCormick, Mary Lou McCormick, and Joan (Mark) Tartt, sister in law, Victoria McCormick, her 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces, and nephews.
Along with her beloved husband and parents, Karen is predeceased by her grandson, Jason Sanchez, and siblings, Barbara (Richard) Posey, Paul McCormick, and Gary McCormick.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, on Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am. The burial will take place following services at the funeral home, at Albany Rural Cemetery, where Karen will join Jeff in eternal rest.
