GUILDERLAND - Michael T. Buffington, 73, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn, surrounded by his loving family.
Mike served his country proudly in the Special Forces of the US Army. Mike worked for General Electric for over 27 years before retiring; during that time he owned and operated several successful restaurants. He was very supportive to his wife's family business, Flowers by Randolph. He enjoyed spending time at Sacandaga Lake and loved cooking for his family. He loved playing Monday night darts at the Rotterdam Elks.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Patricia "Patty" Whipple; his children, Nancy Ann (Dave) Viall and Todd Buffington; his grandsons, Robbie and Andrew Ruth and David and Alex Viall. He is also survived by Patty's family, Debbie (Bob) Whipple-Ruth and Patrick Whipple and his daughters, Victoria, Vanessa and Vianna. He was predeceased by his first wife, Nancy (Sacco), his mother, Gladys Pollard, his brother, David and sisters, Jeanne and Wendy. He will be also be missed by his K-9 companions, Chloe and Zoe.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, May 20th at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 210 Princetown Rd., Schenectady, NY 12306.
