Salvatore Panetta

Colonie- Salvatore Panetta, 71, of Colonie, passed on Sunday, June 4, 2017.

He was born in Gioiosa Ionica, Italy and was the son of the late Rocco Panetta and Maria Giuditta Galluzzo Panetta. Salvatore came to the United States in 1960. He married his loving wife, Martha Mary Bologna Panetta, in 1966. He had worked as a Chef for many years in several Italian American Restaurants in the area, and he was quite legendary. Everyone loved Sal's cooking. He enjoyed playing cards with his brothers, Giuseppe Panetta and the late Luigi Panetta. He was an avid animal lover and enjoyed taking care of his many pets over the years. Since 2003, he had enjoyed many trips that included visiting his hometown in Italy and spending time with his sisters who still reside there, Maria Agostino and Rosa Marando, plus many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is the father of Angela Panetta and the late Vincent Panetta.

Calling hours will be held Friday, June 9th, 2017 at the New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205 from 10:00am-12:00pm with a funeral service to immediately follow. Burial will be held at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie, NY.

Memorial Contributions can be made to the Center for Disability Services, 314 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, in the memory of Vincent Panetta.
