Dennis R. Walters Sr., 68, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 with his loving family by his side.
Dennis was the son of the late Howard and Rosalie (Jennings) Walters.
He was the devoted companion of DonnaLee Billadeau, together they shared 28 wonderful years.
Dennis was a member of the American Legion Post 1450. He worked in the transportation business most of his life and was the co owner of Tri-City Ambulette, Inc.
Dennis was an avid NY Yankee and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He enjoyed traveling, casinos, horse races, and attending games at Yankee Stadium. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. Above all, Dennis was a devoted and generous family man. His most cherished times were spent with his beloved family.
Dennis is survived by his partner, DonnaLee Billadeau, his children, Dennis R. Walters, Jr. (Kristina), Casey C. Walters, Ryann L. Alvarez (Gabriel), Evelyn E. Ziter, and Debra M. Rivera, his grandchildren: Ashley , Michael P., Julian, Joseph, Logan, Jacquelyn, Adam, Michael S., Morgan, Benjamin, Anthony, Avery, Deacon, Nathaniel , Isabella, and Addison, five great-grandchildren: Dylan, Gia, Benjamin, Ameliana, and Oliver and his sisters: Helen LaMountain, Terry Carson, and Carole Hotaling. Many nieces, nephews and close friends also survive. Dennis was predeceased by his brothers, Howard, Tommy, and Donald and sisters Pat, Deanna, and Linda.
Dennis is also survived by his loving fur baby, Teddi.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Albany Stratton VA Hospital for all of their remarkable care. Especially the 8th floor nursing staff who went above and beyond.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday July 1, 2017 at 12:00 pm from New Comer Funerals & Cremations,181 Troy Schenectady Rd (Rt. 2)., Watervliet. Calling hours will precede the service from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Memory Gardens, Colonie.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in his name be made to the American Legion 1450, 275 Grooms Road Clifton Park NY, 12065.
