Thomas R. Gallagher Sr., 82, Niskayuna, NY passed away at Ellis Hospital on Wednesday, July 19, 2017. Born in Beacon, NY, on February 3, 1935, to the late Neil and Mary Elizabeth (McGrath) Gallagher.
Tom was a former draftsman at Green Fan Economizer and a lifetime member and past chief for the City of Beacon Fire Department.
He leaves behind his wife, Lucy, his brother, John, his sisters-in-law Maria and Ruth, and his children Mary Esther (Jerzy) Krol, Richard (Carmelita) Gallagher, Betty (Alfred) Lease, Peggy Gallagher (Hector Medina), Patty (Kevin) Matthews, Thomas (Monica) Gallagher Jr. and Charles Gallagher. His grandchildren, Jerzy Krol, Bridget Krol, Sean (Lindsey) Gallagher, Erin Gallagher, Vicky (Terry) Phelps, Kimberly (Matt) Petrillo, Christopher Lease, Kayla (Matt) Weise, Kevin Matthews, Nicholas (Ana) Matthews, Susan (Andrew) Sanders, Joshua Matthews, Thomas Gallagher III, Matthew Gallagher, Samantha Gallagher and Connor Gallagher. His step-daughters Rosemarie Mullaney (Dean) and Laura Santoro and their children Casey, Ryan and Amanda Mullaney and Olivia Santoro, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Neil, Joseph, Charles, Mary Ellen, William, Edward, Anne, Margaret, Kathleen, Genevieve, Mary, James, Joan, Leo, Daniel, Eileen, and Patrick.
A memorial will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 from 4-6pm at Hudson Valley Christian Church – 100 Grand Street Newburgh, NY followed by a celebration of life dinner.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY from 10am-12:30pm. A funeral service will be held at 12:30pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.

So sad to say good-bye to this fine man who was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, volunteer fire fighter, twice fire chief in Beacon, NY, loyal employee of Green Fan Economizer, avid golfer, and a NY Mets and NY Jets fan. We were blessed to have had you in our lives.
