ALBANY- Willie D. Turner Sr., 78, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2017 surrounded by the love of his family.
DeeDee was born in Savage Mississippi, on February 20, 1939. He was raised by the late Willie and Moddie Harris. DeeDee was a loyal employee to Albany Medical Center as a Chef. He retired with over 50 years of service. He will be remembered for his love of music, and his passion in life was his family.
DeeDee is survived by his children, Willie D. (Susie) Turner Jr., Anthony M. Turner, Willie M. (Jill) Turner, his eight grandchildren, his two great-grandchildren, his wife, Carolyn Jean Turner, and especially his cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at St. John's Church of God in Christ, 74 Fourth Ave, Albany, NY, on Monday, November 6, 2017 from 9:00am-11:00am with a service to immediately follow. Burial will be held at Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy, NY.
