Glenville- Catherine M. Breen 63, passed peacefully at home on Friday, November 24, 2017. Catherine leaves behind her wife, partner of 32 years, Barbara A. Brown. Catherine was born in Troy, NY and was the daughter of the late George and Jane (Walker) Breen and was predeceased by her older brother George Breen, Jr.
Catherine graduated from Catholic Central High school in 1973. She worked as an office manager and a comptroller for 42 years for several local car dealerships. Catherine's quick wit and sense of humor would always make people laugh and she always had a good joke to tell. Catherine enjoyed traveling, and going to casinos as well as visiting her camp on the Great Sacandaga Lake, where you would find her tending to a campfire.
In addition to her wife, Catherine is survived by her brother John (Rhonda) Breen, step mother Kathleen Breen, mother-in-law Connie Gilbert sister-in-laws Alyce Gilbert & Patricia Breen and two felines Smokey and O'Malley. Nieces and nephews include Colleen Falcone, George Breen, III, Kelly Breen, Lindsey, Danielle, John "Johnny" Breen, II, Stephany Mastrangelo, Theresa, Jason, and Jimmy Martin.
Barbara is so thankful to Hospice of Schenectady, and their friends Phyllis Relyea, Gretchen Booth, Carol Crandall, Shirley Semenick, and Roberta Harris for their help & support during Cathie's long illness.
Calling hours will be Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY 12189. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 9:30am at St. Augustine's Church, 25 115th St., Troy, NY 12182. Interment will follow at 1:00pm at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
