Sophie B. Boutin

Sophie B. Boutin, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at St. Peters Nursing and Rehab., with her loving family by her side.

Sophie was the daughter of the late George and Tekla Piecuch.

Sophie was the devoted wife of over 47 years, to the late Roger Boutin.

Sophie enjoyed crocheting and knitting and loved watching birds and wildlife and caring for her many pets over the years. Sophie was a volunteer at Beltrone Living Center for many years and was a leader of the Healthy Bones Osteo group. She belonged to The Hart Social Group and spent time on many trips with the members traveling to lots of varied destinations. She also loved spending time with her family in their camp in the Adirondacks and especially looked forward to the annual gathering of her siblings at the camp.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her sisters and her brother.

She is survived by her son, Ronald (Linda) Boutin; her nephew, William (Joanne) Soterion; her niece, Vicky (Dick) Desruisseaux, and her recent extended Bernhard family.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, New York on Monday February 12, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held Tuesday February 13, 2018 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands.
