Robert E. Peck

July 21, 1931 — April 1, 2018

Albany- It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert E. Peck, July 21, 1931 – April 1, 2018 after a courageous battle with the "golden Years" of life. We wish to give a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Teresian House for the loving care he received while residing there.
Bob was a 1949 graduate of Vincentian Institute in Albany, NY. Until his retirement in 1993, Bob worked as a Plumber / Steamfitter for the Local 7 Union. He was a devoted member of the Kinderhook Elks #2530 serving as both Exalted Ruler and District Deputy where he made lifelong friendships.
He was also a Veteran of the Korean War and often recalled the night in July 1953 spending that final night in a fox hole waiting to see if the Armistice to end the war would hold. It did, and Bob came back and married his sweetheart that was waiting for him, Catherine Rose Toteno. Bob and Katie had two children, Betty Ann Peck of Beverly, MA and Barbara (Michael) Butler of Cropseyville, NY. He lost Katie in 1967 to cancer. Bob remarried in 1978 when another amazing woman, Joan Marguerite Papa, entered his life along with her daughter Lisa (Tony) Pettograsso of Guilderland, NY. Sadly, we lost Joan in 2002. Bob was a strong, fiercely independent person that kept his emotions close to the vest, but when speaking of the two great ladies he shared his life with, a tear would always appear. Our sadness is greatly diminished knowing that Bob will be welcomed with open arms by Katie and Joan along with his brother Ralph, his father Ralph Sr., his mother Elizabeth, great-grandson Collyn and numerous family and lifelong friends that left before him.
Bob is survived by his daughters, Betty Ann, Barbara and Lisa, grandchildren Amber, Ricky, Ashley and Myles and great-grandchildren Olivia, Madyx and Rylen.
A private service will be held by the family. They extend a sincere thank you to all those that will remember Bob with fondness, tell a story of a shared experience with him or just smile when his name is mentioned.
Whenever someone said, "Good to see you Bob", his standard response was "It's good to be seen!"
Good Bye Dad, till we see you again.
