Rensselaer- Jean Shippey, 87, passed away on October 22, 2018.
She was born on December 6, 1930 daughter of the late Charles and Mary Massara.
Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved life, and enjoyed traveling. Jean will be remembered for her infectious laugh, and she was always up for a good game. She had an enormous love of her family and friends and always lived by her motto, "it's not the quantity of life, it's the quality".
Jean is predeceased by her husband William Shippey and her brother, Charles Massara, Jr.
She is survived by her children, Ted Shippey (Jeanette), Bill Shippey (Cathy), Susan DiMura (Dan), Karen Shippey; grandchildren, Lola Shippey, Nicholas Shippey (Sebastian Herrera), Christopher Shippey, Bailey Shippey, Kyle DiMura, Allie DiMura; great grandson, Jaycob Shippey; sisters, Irene Miller, Pat Schroeder; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 2:00pm-4:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205.
