Colonie - Joseph Boni, Jr. 70, passed away suddenly in Buford, Georgia.
Born in Albany on September 16, 1948, son of the late Joseph Sr. and Rita Valmer Boni.
Joe was an extremely loyal employee of M.C. Dean, Inc. for close to 20 years. Because of Joe's expertise he was needed on job sites throughout the South Eastern United States. Working on advanced safety & security systems, especially after the tragic events of 9/11. One of Joe's first jobs was being a part of the rebuilding of the Pentagon.
Joe was an avid fisherman, but his love of golf was foremost. He was a lover of animals, especially his two dogs, Hudson & Angus and his cat, Idgie. He was admired by many for his kind heart and generosity, he loved spending time with his family & friends.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Susan Murphy Boni; daughters, Nicole Huggins (John) and Kara Boni; grandchildren, Devin, Kayla, Kinsley, Sierra; siblings, Robert Boni (Patricia), Peggy Simmon and Betty Berry (Peter); mother-in-law, Dolores Murphy; brothers-in-law, Butch, Mike, Mark & Matt; sisters-in-law, Karen & Nancy and families; his closest friend, Ronald Boshea; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends & neighbors. Joe will be missed by all.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018 from 10am until 12 noon at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, 12205, where a memorial service will begin at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens, Albany.
