Hudson- Rose Quigley, 93, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 surrounded by the love of her family.
Rose was born and raised in her family home, located in Hudson, NY to the late Filippo and Francesca Abitabile on June 22, 1925. Rose met her husband Bill while they were Maid of Honor and Best Man at a friends wedding. It was love at first sight! They were married on November 10, 1946. Together they raised two children, and now enjoy three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Rose worked for 31 years as the head business secretary for WARP Knit Inc. Rose was also an accomplished cook and baker. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She also loved to go to the movies and traveling with family and senior groups. She took special joy in caring for her grand and great-grandchilren. Some of her fondest memories are of the many happy times spent at the family cottage at Twin Lakes in Elizaville, NY where they had clam bakes, BBQ's and family horseshoe competitions.
Rose is predeceased by her siblings, Anthony Abitabile, Paul Abitabile, and Julia Gallo.
She is survived by her beloved husband, William J. Quigley Sr., her children, Patricia (Donald) Jarvis, and William J. (Kathryn) Quigley Jr., her grandchildren, Jeremy, Rae Nicole, and Benjamin, her great-grandchildren, Tristen, Aiden, and Cameron, her sister, Mary Novack, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Saint Mary's Catholic Church, 429 E. Allen Street, Hudson, NY 12534 on Monday(12/03/2018), at 10:00am. Burial will be held at Cedar Park Cemetery, Hudson, NY.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Rose's name to St. Peter's Nursing and Rehab, 301 Hackett Blvd, Albany, NY 12208.
