GLENVILLE, NY- Arnold B. Brown fondly known as "Bert", 90, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2018 at Glendale Nursing Home with family by his side.
Bert was born in Amsterdam on June 6, 1928 and is the son of the late Berton and Marie Brown.
Bert was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School. He retired from General Electric after 37 years then worked for Pinehaven Country Club for 22 years. Bert enjoyed his bowling and golf leagues, and was especially proud of his hole in one. He was a passionate Yankees fan and loved Mickey Mouse as they shared the same birth year. Bert loved vacationing with family in Cape Cod, Maine, & especially Florida. He enjoyed camping at Wells and Alpine Lake with family and friends. He derived the greatest pride and satisfaction from watching his grandchildren participate in sporting events and other activities. Bert was an active member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, and donated his time to lawncare and ushered for the Sunday service.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Everett, Joyce, Shirley and Lois.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Elizabeth Brown "Betty"; his children, Debra Grigoleit (Greg), Donna Lamb (Garth), Brian Brown (Laurel Rigney), Bonnie Sindel (Karl); grandchildren, Meagan, Lance, Brandon, Jeremy, Justin, Adam, Ryan, Tyler, Brooke; sister, Arlene Kinnin and several great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Glendale Nursing home for the loving care they provided. A special thank you to his caretakers Kayla, Mike, Mary Jo, Nan, Gaitree & Ashley and so many others that provided comfort to Bert and his family.
Calling hour will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 from 5 to 7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 10:30am at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 103 S Reynolds St., Scotia, NY 12302. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
