Yifen Cai, 93, of Albany, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 7, 2019 at the Teresian House.
Yifen was born in Shanghai, China on November 30, 1925 to the late Shushen Cai and Xuezhen Jin. Raised in a devout Catholic family, her faith was very important to her.
Yifen graduated from the Aurora College for Women (Zhendan Wen Li Xue Yuan) in Shanghai with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry in 1948.
She worked as a high school science and mathematics teacher for over 30 years in Shanghai. After retirement, she lived with her children and grandchildren until she moved into the Teresian House.
Yifen is survived by her daughter Weiqing Chen, son-in-law Feng Cao, son Weikang Chen, and daughter-in-law Yuhong Sun. She is also survived by her grandchildren David Lin, Shuhong Chen, and Eric Chen, as well as her brother Mingzhuang Cai, her sister-in-law Lingzhen Zhou, and her nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call 1-3 p.m., Saturday January 12th at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie, NY where funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
