James Kornegay, Jr.

James Kornegay, Jr. was born March 8, 1954 to his beloved parents James Kornegay and Louise Faison Kornegay in Goldsboro, North Carolina and moved to Albany, NY. He ascended to the heavens on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 after a short illness.

He was predeceased by his loving mother Louise Kornegay at a young age; his step mother, Mary Kornegay; his brothers John "Taliek" Kornegay and Jerry Lee "Butchie" Kornegay.

He leaves to cherish his beloved wife Dana Kornegay; father: James Kornegay, Sr.; 1 Aunt: Mary (Bristol)King of Griffin, Ga;4 sisters: Angeline Kornegay, Patricia (Michael) Thomas, Bonnie Anderson Everett, all of Albany, NY and Anita Latham-Harpe, Long Beach, California; 4 Brothers: Edward Earl Kornegay, Allen Stephon Kornegay, Rayadorf "Mac Man" Kornegay and Fred Anderson all of Albany, NY. He leaves his loving children : 2 devoted sons, Damond Lee Kornegay and Lewis Trymann (Kahina) Kornegay and step children Garrett, Ebony, Kyle and Kenneth Williams , all of Albany, NY. He leaves 8 grandchildren. He also leaves two life-longfriends Bobby Wilson and Vroman "Romey" Wright, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loved ones and friends.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday , January 8, 2021 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Funeral services will be private.

Gathering size, within our chapels will be based on the most current NYS occupancy requirements. Masks are required, and social distancing is to be observed inside and outside of our chapels.
