Michael D. Margiotta

Michael Dominick Margiotta passed away at home with his family by his side on August 20, 2022. Born in Albany, NY on June 25, 1946, Mike was the loving husband to Judith (Murray) Margiotta.

He was the devoted father to Michael Margiotta Jr. and Steven A. Margiotta, both of Colonie, NY. He leaves behind his sister Mary Delores Grimaldi (Fred) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL.

He is predeceased by his parents Peter and Mary Margiotta, and his brother Peter J. Margiotta, Jr.

Mike was a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy and Hudson Valley Community College. He was also a sheet metal worker and member of Local 83 for over 35 years. He was an avid sports fan. He rooted for the NY Yankees, and was a season ticket holder for the NY Giants for 30 years. In his younger years, he served as President of both Colonie Little League and Colonie Pop Warner Football. He also loved cruises, especially to the Caribbean.

He had a sunny disposition, and was an inveterate practical joker, and loved nothing better than a good practical joke. Mike spent many years with his family at his camp at Watersedge Campground. He loved his boat, and spent many hours washing and waxing it before venturing out on the Great Sacandaga Lake.

Special thanks go to Mike's sisters-in-law, Deborah Moak, Donna Murray, Sharon Connell, and especially, to Pamela Moak, who went above and beyond in helping to care for Mike in his final days. Their love and support meant the world to Mike's family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Michael's honor to a charity of your choice.

Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, August 25, 2022 from 11:00am - 1:00pm at New Comer Cremations and Funerals located at 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie NY 12205. A Memorial Service will begin at 1:00pm.
