Albany- Gary J. Trombley, 81, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2022 at his home in Florida surrounded by his family and his companion, Gail Hepler and his four legged friend Clint.
Born in Albany he was the son of the late Jesse and Mildred Trombley. Gary is predeceased by his loving wife of 55 years, Barbara J. Trombley.
Gary was a graduate of Colonie High School and then joined Trombley Body Shop which he owned and operated with his brothers. Upon its closing he worked for the USPS as a Post Master in West Sand Lake from which he retired. He was a proud veteran serving in the National Guard retiring as a Sargent First Class.
Gary enjoyed traveling along with his wife visiting all 50 states. He enjoyed boating and was a member of the Schenectady Yacht Club with his wife. He loved to participate in the shows at the clubhouse in Salt Springs Village showing off his talents and singing voice. Above all, he was a loving husband, father and poppy. He was proud of all their accomplishments and all they have become.
He is survived his children, Michele (Carl Santschi) Alagna, Michael J. Trombley, Melissa A. (Scott) John, and Maureen Clarke; his granddaughters, Lisa (Chris Ogden) Alagna Ogden, Sarah Trombley, Carol (Nick Geary) Alagna, Alexandria (Carl) Olson, Erin Clarke, and Anna Clarke; and brother; David J. Trombley (Carol); and sister in law, Lori Shaw.
In addition to his wife, Gary is predeceased by his brother, Ron Trombley.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2022 from 1pm-3pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie, NY 12205. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday at 10:30am at St. Clare's Church, 1947 Central Ave, Albany, NY 12205. Interment with full military honors will be held at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery following Mass.
