Anna M. DiSanto, 78, of Albany, passed away on January 31, 2023 at Shaker Place Rehabilitation & Nursing.
She was born in Albany, NY to the late Natale and Josephine (Cotugno) Rao.
Anna was a lifelong resident of Albany. She grew up in Slingerlands and was a 1963 graduate of Bethlehem Central High School. Anna retired from the NYS Dept. of Tax and Finance after 20 years. She loved spending summers camping in the Adirondacks with her family. She was a great cook, her specialty was stuffed peppers. Anna loved crafting and going to the casino. She was an avid gardener. Anna had an enormous heart and loved everyone she met especially her canine companion Rocco.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Joseph, siblings Theresa Schryver, Joseph Rao, Mary Valenti and best friend Pat McGraw.
She is survived by her children Joanne Ferri (Scott), Joseph DiSanto Jr., Michele Celello, Lisa Cooper (the late Jeff Cooper), grandchildren Joseph P. , Antonio and Isabella DiSanto, Paul Celello, Christina Mickalauskas (Anthony), Jeffry Cooper Jr, Mariah Constantino (Brian), and Dylan Cooper, siblings Anthony Rao and Patricia Blair, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2023, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie, New York.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, 10:30 am at the Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave, Albany, New York. Interment to follow in the Calvary Cemetery.
