Mackie Brown born May 21, 1967 in Brooklyn NY to Samuel Brown and Alfrieda Brown. Mackie was married to Melissa Brown, spending 30 beautiful years together. They have two children, Ramon Mial and his wife Kate Mial of Scotia, NY and Darius Brown of Schenectady, NY. Mackie has 3 grandchildren; Grayson Mial, Rowan Mial and Maren Mial. Mackie is survived by many siblings; Steven and Charnel, Bernice Brown-Britten and Tim Britten, Jerry and Carlissa Brown, Denise Brown, Katherine Brown-Henderson, Gregory Brown, Brenda adn Stephen Sahm, Clifford Knight, Eric Knight, Darryl Knight, sister-in-law Barbara Piece and brother-in-law Christopher Samuria. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.


Mackie attended Kingston High School, graduating class of 1986. He loved sports, running track and field, as well as playing baseball and football. He played semi-pro football for the Albany-Metro Mallers, Glove Cities Colonials through his adult career. Mackie's love of sports led him to coach for more than 15 years at Belmont Pop Warner, several years at Rotterdam Pop Warner and many years with Schenectady Little League where his sons played both sports.
His love for sports and community led him toward a path of ministry. He and his wife Melissa began a ministry, Come to the Table in 2018. He touched the hearts and lives of many preaching and teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
He felt he had a personal mission to help people to be reconciled back to God in relationship.

He was passionate about BBQ. He loved to feed the people and create new recipes.
In 2017, he established Brown's Backyard BBQ, located in Scotia, NY. Mack is well known for his delicious smoked beef brisket and St. Louis ribs. In addition to being an entrepreneur, he was employed at Culligan Water in Scotia, NY.

He loved his wife, children and grandchildren; always sacrificing for them. He was a great man of God, loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle. He will be greatly missed by his family, church family and community.

Services for Mackie Brown will be held on Friday May 19th, 2023. Viewing hours are 11AM-1PM, followed by a Christian service from 1pm-230pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie NY 12205.
