Benson D. Persing

Benson Dann Persing, 77, of Delanson passed away on Monday, June 19th at home.
He was born in Corning, NY, the son of the late George and Lillian (Dann) Persing. He grew up in Jefferson, NY and graduated in 1965.
Ben proudly served his country in the US Navy and was honorably discharged in 1971 after spending 4 years aboard the USS Shangri-la and 2 years in the reserves upon his return..
On July 8th, 1967, he married Roberta Rice and the couple enjoyed 56 wonderful years together.
After retiring from his life long career as a professional tractor trailer driver, he most recently enjoyed delivering meals for Meals on Wheels in the Duanesburg area as a volunteer.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Roby, his daughter Kim (Mark) Bryant, and his son Aaron Persing; his grandchildren Breanna, Samantha, Max, and Lucas
A visitation will be held on Tuesday June 27th from 9:30am-11:30am, with a service to follow at 11:30am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie NY 12205.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Patriot Guard Riders of New York at pgrny.org
