Marquis Leon Gause

Schenectady- Marquis Leon Gause, 34, left this earth to be with his mother, the late Anna Chapman, on July 8, 2023.

Marquis lived all over the Capital District with his family. He was an Honor Role student in Schenectady and played football at Lansingburgh High School. He welcomed his first and only child, a son Jamair, in 2008 whom he loved dearly. He excelled in construction and computer technology. He also loved to fish with his brother Chris when he was younger. Marquis struggled when his mom passed away. His personal struggles took his smile, his energy, his humor, and ultimately his life. We will miss him everyday for the rest of our lives.

Marquis is survived by his father, Leon Gause, his son, Jamair Gause, and his siblings, Hope Manns (Kareem), Nichole Gause (Chris), Leon Gause, Deon Wilson (Akiem), Lea Maye, Christopher Gause (Laura), Katrina Brice, Shaquana Smith and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, New York 12205 on Thursday, July 20, 2023 from 2 to 3pm with a funeral service to follow at 3pm.
