Christine Gabree Damiano

August 19, 1965 — January 13, 2024

Guilderland- Christine Gabree Damiano, a lifelong resident of Guilderland, passed away on January 13th, 2024, after a brief illness, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on August 19, 1965, to Harold and Betty Gabree, Chris leaves behind a legacy of warmth, compassion, and love. She was predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Julia Gaida, but now reunites with her in eternal peace.

Chris is survived by her devoted parents, her brother John Gabree, sisters Debra Turner (James), Michelle Gabree-Huba (Dan), and Stacey Rorick (Tom). Her daughter, Sarah Damiano, was a source of immense joy and pride in Chris's life. Additionally, she leaves behind several nieces and nephews who were recipients of her love and care.

Chris's professional journey took her through various roles, reflecting her nurturing spirit. She dedicated many years to Price Chopper before transitioning into caregiving. Initially, as a nanny, and later in elder care, Chris found purpose in providing comfort and companionship to those in need. Her loving and compassionate disposition made her a cherished caregiver, leaving a lasting impact on the lives she touched.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Chris found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was a devoted pet owner, finding companionship in her beloved pets, Petey and Phoebe, who brought immeasurable joy and love into her life. Chris also found solace and happiness in the kitchen, where her delicious dishes reflected her love for her family. In the summers she took delight spending time in the garden planting flowers cultivating beauty and tranquility in her surroundings.

Chris enjoyed country music and a curious mind that found fulfillment in watching documentaries. They provided a unique lens through which she connected with the human experience. These interests, along with her warm and welcoming nature, endeared her to those fortunate enough to share in her company.

A gentle soul taken too young, Christine Gabree Damiano will forever be missed by those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her love, kindness, and the beautiful memories she leaves behind will be cherished by family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Nurse Johanna and Dr. Chang at Samaritan Hospital for their compassionate care during Christine's time of need. Their dedication and kindness provided comfort to both Christine and her loved ones during a challenging period.

In honor of Christine's memory, the family welcomes donations to be made to Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave. Glenville, NY . These contributions will serve as a meaningful tribute to a life well-lived and will continue the legacy of compassion and care that Christine embodied throughout her journey.
