Diane L. Dingman-Rice

KNOX – Diane L. (Zielinski) Dingman-Rice, 52, passed away at her home, with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, October 28, 2009. Born in Schenectady, she was the loving daughter of the late Gerald C. and Doreen (Brown) Zielinski. Diane was a 1975 graduate of South Colonie Central High School. She worked for Ellis Hospital for 31 years and also ran her own business called Chocolate Indulgence. Diane was a Girl Scout leader and a member of Onistagrawa Triangle. She enjoyed camping, gardening and had a great love for children. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Diane is the beloved wife of Robert Rice, Jr. She is the devoted mother of Laura Dingman and step-mother of Joshua (Amanda) Rice, Cheryl (Don) Santorelli and Shawna Czwakiel. Diane is the cherished sister of Gary (Michele) Zielinski, Glen (Judy) Zielinski and Daina (Steve) Majewski. She is the loving aunt of Melanie Majewski, Alyssa Zielinski, Ryan Zielinski, Colby Majewski, Joey Zielinski and Austin Zielinski. Also surviving is her aunt and uncle, Richard and Fran Greene. Diane's family would like to thank all of her "Peeps" from Ellis Hospital who helped care for her during her illness.
Funeral services will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
