Edith M. Wark

Edith M. Wark, 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 9, 2010, at Maplewood Manor in Ballston Spa. Edith was born on December 4, 1922, in Jersey Shore, PA to the late David and Stella (Stark) Martz. Edith loved reading, traveling and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents Edith was predeceased by her husband Donald, who she married on February 10, 1940. She is also predeceased by her sisters; J. Anita Martz, Lucille Zeyak Surdam, Anna Strauser, Hazel Karl; her god daughter, Susan Farrington and her grandson-in-law, James Seeber.
Edith is the loving mother of, Donna and her husband Al Witter; the beloved grandmother of, Sharyl and her husband Donald Cox, Dale Witter and Brian and his wife Suzanne Witter. She is the cherished great-grandmother of Londan Isabella; sister of Catherine Gillespie; sister-in-law to Donald Karl and God mother of Barbara Grundhauser. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:00pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will precede the service from 11 to 1 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery, Colonie.
