Robert E. Hayes, Jr.

SCHENECTADY, NY – Robert E. Hayes, Jr., 48, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Schenectady, he is the son of Dorothy McKinley Hayes and the late Robert E. Hayes, Sr. He lived and worked in the Schenectady area for all of his life. Bob had a CDL license and worked for over twenty years for his friend, Victor DePoalo. In addition to his mother, Bob leaves behind his girlfriend, Kris Swahlan of Schenectady; his children, Patrick Hayes of Cambridge, NY and Rebecca Hayes of Lyons, NY and their mother, Anita Taffi Hayes of Lyons, NY; his sister, Roberta Hayes of Massachusetts and many aunts, uncles, cousins and very close friends.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will precede the service from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Bethlehem Cemetery.
