SCHENECTADY – John F. "Jack" Chandler, 64, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2012. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Earl and Rosalie Chandler.
Jack owned JaSan Pools and was a member of the Carpenter's Union for many years. He was employed with the Schenectady County Highway department for 15 years. Jack enjoyed spending time with his children, cherished dogs, and grandchildren. He also loved taking long drives with his wife. Jack was a member of the Rotterdam Elks 2157 and acted as the Major Projects Chairman for several years.
Along with his parents, Jack was predeceased by his brothers, Earl Chandler, Robert Chandler, and Richard Chandler, and his grandson Travaughn Barret.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sandra M. Chandler; children Gina (Jack) Hawkey, Edward (April) Chandler, Penny Donnelly, Christopher Chandler, Jose (Renee) Marquez, and Joneen Chandler; beloved dogs Bella and Jake; sister Rosalie Garrity; grandchildren Eddie and Brittney Hawkey, Rachelle Crotty, Macenzie Donnelly, Christopher Chandler, Jr., Nicholas Chandler, Joneen, Justice and Jahnise Jackson, Zay Marquez and Madison Chandler; great-grandchildren Anthony Renaud, and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 2:30 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner, Road, Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 12:30 to 2:30 pm at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Major Projects at the Rotterdam Elks Lodge 2157, 1152 Curry Road, Schenectady, NY 12306 in Jack's name.
