TROY – Rosemary Fazio passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Evergreen Commons Nursing Home. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Angeline Settanny. Rosemary lived in Troy for most of her life and resided in the Troy Hill Apartments before going to Evergreen Commons. For thirty-two years, Rosemary worked as an Unemployment Supervisor with New York State before her retirement. She was a Notary Public, social chairwoman of CSEA and also knew sign language. She enjoyed painting, shopping and fancy jewelry. Rosemary had a hard life, but was a very generous and giving person who would do anything for anyone.
In addition to her parents, Rosemary was predeceased by her siblings, Ted Settanny, John C. Settanny, Virginia Andes and Rose Settanny. Rosemary is survived by her loving daughter, Barbara J. Cesta of West Sand Lake. She is the beloved sister of John A. Settanny of Clifton Park. Rosemary is the devoted grandmother of Fred Cesta of West Sand Lake, Christopher Cesta of Austin, TX, Marc Cesta of Sand Lake and Michele Cesta Bowman of Poestenkill. Also surviving are her cherished great-grandchildren, Courtney and Kelsey Bowman of Poestenkill and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Troy. Calling hours will precede the service from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy.
