Colonie – Ronald A. Amedio, 71, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday January 29, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Albany, he is the son of Loretta Martino Amedio, and the late Anthony J. Amedio.
Ronald graduated from Vincentian Institute and the Albany College of Pharmacy. He was employed at Sterling Winthrop for over twenty years, and most recently at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals as a research pharmacist. Ronald was a dedicated and devoted family man who loved to spend time with his family, especially during annual vacations to Cape Cod, MA. At home, he loved and was happiest poolside with his grandchildren. He was a sportsman and always enjoyed a good round of golf with his sons, Bryan & David, son-in-law Kevin, and his brother-in-laws Eugene E., and the late Leonard G. Napierski. Ronald always expressed how proud he was to celebrate and rejoice in his children's accomplishments. He also had a soft spot in his heart for animals, especially his English Setters that he walked daily in the neighborhood. He was a long-time communicant, and Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Colonie.
In addition to his mother, Ronald is survived by his beloved wife Kathleen of 50 years, and his devoted children; David Amedio, Bryan (Ellen) Amedio, Rebecca (Kevin) Delaney. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren; Isabella and Mea Amedio, Antonia and Shamus Delaney, his siblings; Lorraine (Russ) Dubuc, Michael (Debbie) Amedio, Gerard (Angela) Amedio, his sister-in-law Karen Napierski, his brother-in-law Eugene E. Napierski. Ronald is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and especially his best friend Richard Pierle.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Ronald on Tuesday February 4th at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Our Light Church, 1 Maria Dr. Loudonville, NY 12211, all are invited to attend. Interment will be at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
