Adelaide M. Maiello

March 24, 1920 — December 27, 2020

Latham- Adelaide M. Maiello, 100, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Sunday, December 27, 2020, with her loving children by her side. She was the daughter of Francesco and Angeline (Caputo) San Felice. Adelaide was born and raised in Saratoga Springs, NY and graduated from Saratoga Springs High School, class of 1938. She worked as a seamstress for the Van Raalt Company in Saratoga Springs before being married and becoming a dedicated homemaker. Adelaide was the devoted wife of the late Anthony J. Maiello, Sr. They were married for 50 years. She was a communicant of St. Ambrose Church, Latham, NY.

Adelaide was devoted to her family. Sunday macaroni, meatballs and the most tender and tasty braciolas dinners were a tradition for years. In her later years, her house continued to be filled with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren for their weekly Sunday gatherings. Her personalized hand-decorated birthday cakes will definitely be missed. Besides cooking and baking, Adelaide enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, crocheting, and even at the age of 100, she was astute with current events.

Adelaide is survived by her brother, Ralph San Felice; her children: Anthony J. (Vickie) Maiello, Jr, Mary Ann (Robert) Clark, Adelaide (Henry) Nirsberger, Kathleen (Earl) La May, Patricia (Anthony) Roy, Angela (David) Tribley; her beloved grandchildren: Michele (Don) Kelafant, Anthony J. (Amy) Maiello, III, John F. Maiello, Brian Clark, Stephanie Clark, Michael (Caitlin) Nirsberger, Mark Nirsberger, Erica Nirsberger, Shaun La May, Eric La May, David Tribley, Jr., Joshua (Emily) Tribley; and her cherished great-grandchildren: Tyler Hayner, Gabrielle Kelafant, Ryan David Scotson, Sophia Maiello, Jacob Maiello, George Nirsberger, Gordon Nirsberger, Kinsley Nirsberger, Violet Tribley and Salem Tribley. She is also survived by several cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Adelaide was predeceased by her infant brother, Sylvester San Felice, and her brothers, Sylvester (Red) San Felice, Frank San Felice, and Joseph San Felice and her granddaughter, Andrea Lee Nirsberger.
