Latham-Agatha T. Flores, 84, of Latham passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Westmere Home for Adults. Mrs. Flores was born in Saratoga Springs, the daughter of the late Walter B. and Irene Derlick Thomas. She earned her undergraduate degree from St. Lawrence University and later received her master's degree from SUNY Albany. She was also an avid world traveler, who often visited her lifelong WW II pen pal in England. Mrs. Flores was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption where she was active in various activities including being a lector, Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Altar Rosary Society. In addition, she was also a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority, DAR, Friends of Pruyn House and the English Speaking Union.
She is survived by her four children, Robert T. Flores of San Francisco, Linda (Gary) Gimondo, Judy (Dan) Gibson and James J. Flores; her grandchildren, Jeffrey R. (Liz) Gimondo, Nancy C. Gimondo, Katie Gibson, and Charlie Gibson; brothers- in- law, Kenneth and Gerald Flores and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Flores was predeceased by her husband, Robert J. Flores, in 1984 and by her brothers Walter and Earl Thomas and by her sisters Irene Lamitie and Marion Murphy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Our Lady of the Assumption, Latham.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 PM on Friday, August 24, 2012 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Christian Foundation for Children & Aging or to the American Parkinson's Disease Association in memory of Mrs. Flores.
