Agnes Murtaugh

ALBANY – Agnes "Fran" Murtaugh, 84, passed away on Tuesday, January 09, 2007. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late William and Loretta Stein. Mrs. Murtaugh was a resident of Albany for most of her life. Fran worked for the New York State Department of Law and more recently, for the City of Albany from where she retired. She was a member of St. Mary's Altar Rosary Society and belonged to several Senior Citizens Centers in the area. Fran enjoyed going on bus trips with the Senior Citizens and also enjoyed reading. She was the beloved wife of the late John J. Murtaugh. Fran is the devoted mother of John J. Murtaugh and his wife, Beatrice of Schenectady, Laurie Picinich and her husband, John of Knox and the late Maureen A. Murtaugh. She is the cherished grandmother of Jenny Murtaugh and Sean, Grady and Kelsey Picinich. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Fran was predeceased by her sisters, Margaret Kelleher and Evelyn Rowe.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday morning at 9:00 at the Historic St. Mary's Church, Albany. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont. Expressions of sympathy may be made at newcomerfamily.com
