ALBANY – Ainsley L. Thompson, 64, died on Monday, April 16, 2007 at Albany Medical Center Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Jamaica, West Indies and lived in Albany since 1971. Mr. Thompson worked for Macy's in Colonie for 22 years and more recently, for the Albany County Nursing Home for six years. He attended Colonie Christian Life Center. Mr. Thompson was an avid bowler, bowling in a league at Sunset Recreation. He enjoyed fishing and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Ainsley is the beloved husband of 38 years to Sylvia T. Thompson. He is the father of Howard Thompson. He is the step-father of Collin, Norma and Pansy; brother of Henry, Caswell, Desmond and Michael. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, five sisters-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Colonie Christian Life Center on Vly Road. Calling hours will be Friday from 5:00to 8:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Memory's Garden. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Albany Dialysis Center, 64 Albany Shaker Rd., Albany, NY 12204 in memory of Ainsley L. Thompson.
