Craryville – Alan Flesher, 79, of Craryville, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at Albany Medical Center.
He was born in Brooklyn and was the son of the late Simon and Nettie Flesher. He served in the Korean War receiving four medals; Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and two Bronze Stars. He earned an undergraduate degree from Brooklyn College and Master Degrees from Columbia University in Administration and Education. He also was honored with Certificates in Special Education, Guidance Counseling and as an Elementary Principal. At the time of his retirement, he was chairman of Pupil Personnel Services at Elmont High School on Long Island. Alan especially loved living in the country and cooking for his friends who called him Mr. Garlic. He was predeceased by his first wife, Jacqueline Flesher.
He is the beloved husband of, Sharyn Flesher. He is the devoted father of, his two sons by his previous marriage, Alexander and Seth, daughter Vivienne, stepson, Ryan and stepdaughter, Jenifer. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Christoffer, Katrina, Nicholas and Jack.
