Alan D. Haskell

August 5, 1960 — March 30, 2022

Alan D. Haskell "big AL", 61 was called to the lord on March 30th 2022. Al was a true gentle giant and was the kindest, sweetest person on earth. Al was a friend to everyone he met. Al had a wicked sense of humor and would leave laughter in his wake, no matter where he went. Al was a 1978 graduate of Shaker High School in Latham. He worked a summer internship at Greenhouse Specialty Food Distributors and after graduation, he returned to work there for the next 30 years. Following his tenure at Greenhouse, Al took a position with Bobrow Distributing Corporation in Clifton Park. Known as the Candy Man, Al remained employed there until he retired in February of 2020. On May 5th, 1984, Al married the love of his life, Bonnie Farrigan, literally the girl next door. They were married for nearly 38 years. Al had a lifelong love of sports and was a gifted, all-around athlete. For some reason, Al was a lifelong fan of the New York Mets. He excelled at any sport in which he participated. Al was a member of the 1973 Colonie Little League team that went all the way to the Little League World Series in Williamsport. He remained lifelong friends with everyone from that team. Al's family would like to thank John Miller, Curt Benedetto and Bill Lovely for their love and support throughout Al's battle. Al was pre-deceased by his parents William and Dolores Haskell. He is survived by his loving wife Bonnie, Brother Mark (Katrina), brothers in-law Bob (Ann), Ron (Amy), sisters in-law Linda (Clifford) Joanne (Paul) and Amy (Sonny) and many nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews. Bonne would like to pay special thanks to: Malta Ambulance Corps, Community Hospice-Saratoga nurses Anna and Belinda, New York Oncology-Hematology-Albany and the staff there for their compassionate care of Al, Especially and Dr.Garbo, Dr. Randi, St Peters Hospital for GAB especially Horace Horton.
