Guilderland- Alan D. Kenyon, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday November 18th at Our Lady of Life Mercy Center. Born in Glens Falls, he is the son of the late Dr. Howard and Edith Kenyon.
Alan proudly served our country during WWII in The Pacific Theatre with The United States Army Air Corps. Following the war, Alan graduated from Tri-State University with an engineering degree. He then worked as an engineer for The New York State Department of Transportation for 34 years. Alan was a communicant of Christ Lutheran Church, a member of the Guilderland VFW Post #5294, the Albany Society of Engineers, and The Uncle Sam Stamp Club. After his retirement Alan loved to spend time traveling with his wife. Alan was a lover of the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking in his free time.
Alan is the beloved husband of the late Ruth Kenyon. He is survived by his children Douglas (Ginger) Kenyon, and Diane Kenyon Dichiara. Alan is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Jason, Sarah, Beth, and Jeffrey.
A funeral service for Alan will be held Thursday November 21st at 9:30 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 1500 Western Ave. Interment will be at Prospect Hill Cemetery.
