SLINGERLANDS – Alan L.Young, 51, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2009 at his home, after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Manhattan and lived in the Capital District for over twenty years. Alan was a registered nurse dedicated to serving the Albany area where he touched many people with his kindness and compassion. He was a car enthusiast, keeping up with all of the new models as well as the classics. He is the beloved son of Irvin and Marilyn Young of Flushing, NY. Alan is the devoted husband of Patti A. (Hurd) Young. He is the father of Samantha Sohnen.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Alan L. Young.
