WATERVLIET - Alan D. Littlejohn Sr., 61, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Alan was born on October 2, 1959 in Forest City, N.C. and was the son of the late Lee Manuel and Annette (Sweetinburg) Littlejohn. He graduated form East Ruterford Highs School in 1978. He served his country proudly in the US Army. He worked as a maintenance worker for the Daughters of Charity in Menands for over 20 years.
Alan enjoyed watching sports on TV and soap operas, an avid Cowboys fan, favorite artist was Michael Jackson and he enjoyed a good steak and potato dinner. He was a very hard worker, taking care of his family, every year he enjoyed Christmas shopping for his grandchildren, loved to visit his mother every year in North Caroline until her passing in 2019.
Alan is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Nancy M. (Myles) Littlejohn; his children, Alan D. (Shakera D.) Little John Jr., James E. (Alicia) Myles, Sophia Myles, Natasha Myles, Benjamin (Erin) Morton; his brothers, Levon Watkins, Richard Littlejohn, and Jeffery Littlejohn; his grandchildren, Ashantee D. Littlejohn and Noah D. Littlejohn; a host of step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Mookie. He was predeceased by his siblings, Deidre Littlejohn and Anthony Long.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, January 23, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet. Calling hours will precede the service from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Interment at a later date in Wells Spring United Methodist Church, Forest City, N.C. Gathering size within our chapels will be based on the most current NYS occupancy requirements. Masks are required and social distancing is to be observed inside and outside of our chapels.
