Alan E. Lovegrove

December 18, 1965 — May 15, 2024

RENSSELAER - Alan E. Lovegrove, 58, His heart was too big for this world and on May 15th, 2024, God brought him to his heavenly home.

Alan was born on December 18, 1965 in Albany to Jeanne (Heisler) Schoonmaker and the late Charles W. Lovegrove.

Alan was a devoted follower of Christ and attended church every Sunday with his mom. He was always blasting K-love radio in his home and car. He sang and volunteered for many years in Awana and Church. He served the Lord in many ways and brought many to God.

He loved being around his family especially his mom, his children and grandchildren. They were the light of his life as he was theirs and becoming a poppy was his greatest love. Every Sunday and Wednesday he would bring his daughter and grand babies dinner and go right into grandpa mode as soon as he got there. He would play any games they wanted and always knew exactly what to do so they had fun. He was always there to help his daughter and son-in-law with anything they needed.

Alan is also known for being an amazing musician. He was the lead vocals in the band Blacksmith, Triple Threat, and Tribalsoul. He even traveled to Germany to re-release the blacksmith record in 2011.

Alan was working as a maintenance supervisor for the Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless in Albany. He was a hard worker and was always there to lend a helping hand (or tool) to anyone who needed it.

Alan will always be remembered for being goofy and being young at heart, being able to fix anything by himself, and of course jammin on tik tok. He also loved going camping, snorkeling in the creek and ocean and going bowling with his kids. Whenever he was with his kids and grandkids he always had fun and was happiest.

Alan is survived by his loving mother and step-father, Jeanne and Dennis Schoonmaker; his loving children, Samantha M. (Eric) Linkowski and Brandon A. Lovegrove; his adored grandchildren, Willow and Sawyer Linkowski; his brothers and sisters, Timothy (Cindy) Lovegrove, David Lovegrove, Terry (Steve) Curran, Dennis Schoonmaker Jr., Jennifer Hawes; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life is currently being organized and will be announced soon.
