ALBANY ~ Alan R. Maki, 48 of Albany, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, after a long battle with Diabetic Neuropathy.
Born in Albany, he was the son of Brian and Gloria (Woodcock) Maki. Alan was an executive chef, beginning his career at Durato's Restaurant. The more skilled Alan became, the more his passion grew. He moved on to additional establishments such as Jack's Oyster House, Colonie Country Club, 677 Prime, Saratoga National and lastly Real Seafood Co. where he met the love of his life Brandy Reilly.
Alan also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, golfing, and watching his favorite sports teams, the Yankees and Eagles. He loved spending time with his nephews and just hanging out at home snuggled up with Brandy and their five fur babies, watching their favorite T.V. shows.
Alan will be remembered for his fiery personality and love for family. He had zero regrets and wants his life celebrated not mourned.
Alan is survived by his loving fiancee Brandy Reilly; his parents, Brian and Gloria; his sister, Lisa (Jonathan) Herrgesell; and two nephews, Daniel and Bradley; Brandy's sister, Crystal Boyce-Sista; as well as two aunts and many cousins.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 20, from 2 -4 p.m. with a service at 4 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie.
