Troy – Alan J. Morrill Sr., 87, passed away on Monday December 24th, 2012 at The Community Hospice Inn surrounded by his loving family.
Alan was predeceased by his parents Giles and Alice Morrill, a brother Rev. Giles Morrill, and the mother of his children Marcia Morrill.
Alan faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II. He retired from the Good Year Tire Co. in the Port of Albany after more than 30 years of service. Alan loved camping, working on cars, target practice with his sons, and being surrounded by family. He was a member of Elks Colonie #2192.
Alan is survived by the love of his life Kathleen Dwyer. He is the father of Alan (Cindy) Morrill Jr., Mark (Michele) Morrill, and Michael J. Morrill. He is the grandfather of Tyler Morrill. Alan is survived by his brother Jim (Jeanne) Morrill, and sister Joann Nolan. He is also survived by Kathleen's children Nora Dwyer, Susan Dwyer, Jack (Nicole Dwyer); and their children John, Kasey, Kelly, and Connor.
A memorial mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday December 29, 2012 at Sacred Heart Church, 310 Spring Ave. Troy, NY at noon. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery in Troy.
